An exciting, efficient way to connect finders to rehabbers in the Finger Lakes, Upstate, and Western regions of New York State - launching in early 2025!
Are you a rehabber and want to be included in our directory? Complete the submission form below.
Finger Lakes Wildlife Hotline (FLWH) is a network of DEC-licensed wildlife rehabilitators. Our two-part mission is:
1) to quickly and efficiently connect finders of injured or orphaned New York-native wildlife with the most qualified wildlife rehabber, based on species and location, and
2) to allow rehabbers to focus more on animal care by reducing their time spent redirecting finders to other rehabbers.
We currently have more than one dozen independently-licensed wildlife rehabilitators included on our hotline. This results in our directory already having close to 30 total organized options for a finder to choose from! That greatly increases the likelihood of a caller being connected with the most suitable rehabber on the first try.
-
We invite all rehabbers in the FLWH directory to list our primary hotline number as their publicly advertised contact for finders. We encourage members to utilize the hotline as a tool to reduce the calls you receive about animals outside of your specialty - which, as we all know, is a large portion of the calls we typically get.
-
While this directory connects members of the public with licensed rehabbers, each rehabber and/or organization operates independently, and there is no legal affiliation between them or with this hotline.
